Born and raised in Paris to a French father and an Irish-American mother, Thibaud’s identity has always been shaped by the collision of cultures. This sense of duality deeply informs his work as a director.
Thibaud made his first film at age 14 and never looked back. His work has been recognized at prestigious institutions like La Cinémathèque Française, where his short Earl was screened—a space reminiscent of the French New Wave that shaped him.
Thibaud's recent short film Upeksha (2023) was an intimate glimpse into the life of a single mother trying to raise her son in a world that was not made for him. The film went on to receive many accolades in the festival circuit. His latest project, The Things We Carry (2025), is a thriller starring Michael Madsen. The film examines the themes of mental health, grief and loss, and the cycle of gun violence in America.
Thibaud lives and works in Los Angeles.
